Northgate Market Expands Same-Day Delivery with Instacart

Northgate González Market, California’s premiere family-owned, Latino themed supermarket chain has announced a strategic partnership with Instacart, the North American leader in online grocery, to deliver grocery items from 36 store locations in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties.

Northgate Market customers will now have an additional option to shop for their favorite groceries and household essentials and have them delivered directly from the store to their door. Instacart customers will enjoy an entirely new shopping choice with a focus on the foods and flavors they are looking for – fresh and authentic Hispanic foods and flavors delivered with high quality and friendly service.

“Northgate González Market is proud to partner with Instacart to provide additional shopping options to our loyal customers,” said Mike Hendry, executive vice president, Marketing & Merchandising. “Given our company’s expanding and increasingly diverse customer profile, our partnership makes total sense as we continue to strive to provide our customers with excellence in customer service, various shopping options and an enhanced shopping experience.”

Vice President of Retail at Instacart Andrew Nodes said, “We know that people and families across Southern California are looking for convenient and reliable shopping options from the grocers that have been feeding our communities throughout this crisis. We’re proud to partner with Northgate González Market, giving their customers access to the groceries they need from the retailer they know and love. We recognize that delivery has become essential for many and we’re dedicated to ensuring our retail partners can connect with their customers online during this time.”

Northgate Market customers can begin shopping via Instacart by going to shop.northgatemarket.com, www.instacart.com/northgate-market or opening the Instacart app on their mobile device. From there, customers can select their city and Northgate Market store and can begin adding items to their Instacart grocery cart. An Instacart personal shopper will pick and deliver the order within the customer’s designated time frame – same-day or, for convenient scheduling, within up to two weeks. All Instacart orders default to “Leave at My Door Delivery” to ensure customers can receive their deliveries safely and can maintain social distancing guidelines.

Northgate Gonzalez Market is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary. Loyal customers have come to love Northgate González Market foods that made them famous – scratch-made bolillo rolls, freshly made carnitas, fire-roasted split chicken and freshly made corn tortillas – made in house from masa that is still made from stone-ground corn every day.

The company offers its customers a full-service supermarket with a large meat department, bakery, tortilleria, fresh produce, and prepared foods in addition to a sizeable section of domestic and imported Latin American grocery goods to provide a Mexican homeland experience. Northgate González Market is best known for many of its 40-year old signature items like marinated carne asada, chorizo, and our famous carnitas.
