Apples & Cinnamon….and Acts of Kindness

Promoted Partner Content

So we know it’s supposed to be fall here in Coronado, but we seem to be having some technical difficulties with regulating the weather! We want to don our “winter” wear, albeit by Southern California standards! We want to get our hearts and heads ready for the holidays and all that come with them.

Regardless, our palates and our minds are telling us it’s time for Ciders, and Cinnamon and Nutmeg and Braises, and Hearty Healthy Grains and Green Soups to get us ready for the season. Well there’s “that” season too, and our go-to remedy is plain old homemade Chicken Noodle Soup loaded up with herbs, lots of fresh lemon juice and cooked to perfection with tender juicy chicken falling off the bone.

We spend most of our days in the PRET kitchen researching, tasting, studying & creating seasonal menus for our clients’ upcoming events. Nothing gives us more satisfaction than creating and executing the perfect client experience (check out some of our latest reviews on Yelp!).

These past couple of weeks have had us all over San Diego with events ranging from End of Life Celebrations to fabulous and fun milestone birthday celebrations. Through it all, the most important component of what we do is to take into consideration each and every client’s special needs. The common thread is that food is where we celebrate, we congregate, we laugh and we mourn.

If you find yourself at any point in your day able to pay it forward with a random act of kindness, you have no idea how you may impact someone’s day.  I just recently walked into a local business that was technically closed for the day, and had the owner just hand me what I desperately needed without even asking to be paid, not to mention the amazing crew at Coronado Fitness Club graciously having me piggy back along with them at their Taste of Coronado Booth, and those are just a few that made it to the top of the list.

We live in this pristine community, and it’s all about holding each other up! If you have an entertaining or culinary question that we can help you out with, just email us at: and we’re happy to find you an answer!

Cheers to the coming of our cool weather and the season ahead.
