Cops and Robbers: Forgery & Fraud at Local Restaurants

Thanks to the Coronado Police Department for providing The Coronado Times with the below information (partial list):

Crimes:

8/15/18: Petty Theft near 2000 block of Mullinix Drive

Unknown suspect stole the victim’s kayak from the shoreline at Tidelands Park and fled in an unknown direction.

8/14/18: Obtaining Money by False Pretenses near 1200 block of First Street

Unknown subjects called the Burger King restaurant in Coronado claiming to be calling from San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and demanded payment for a fictitious overdue electrical bill. The manager of Burger King followed the suspect’s demand to have the bill paid via gift cards.

8/12/18-8/13/18: Petty Theft near 200 block of C Avenue

Locked bicycle was stolen from in front of the residence at the location. The total loss for the bicycle and lock amounted to $260.

8/12/18-8/13/18: Petty Theft near 200 block of B Avenue

Unlocked bicycle along with a U-Lock was taken from the patio in front of the residence at the location. The total loss amounted to $880.

8/11/18-8/12/18: Grand Theft Property near 800 block of C Avenue

Unknown suspect entered the victim’s home and stole jewelry from a dresser drawer in her bedroom while her home was being renovated by the property management company.

8/11/18: Battery On a Spouse or Cohabitant at Undisclosed Location

Subject got into a verbal altercation with her boyfriend. The verbal altercation escalated to a physical altercation, where the boyfriend pushed her and hit her in the face. The boyfriend fled the scene in an unknown direction, and Coronado Police were unsuccessful in finding his whereabouts at that time.

8/7/18-8/8/18: Petty Theft near 500 block of G Avenue

Unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked property and stole several items including two leaf blowers and a black suitcase. The total loss for the items is $400.

8/7/18-8/8/18: Burglary of the Second Degree near 500 block of G Avenue

Unknown suspect stole several personal items from the victim’s vehicle by breaking the front passenger window. All stolen property was valued at approximately $1,645.

8/6/18-8/8/18: Forgery near 900 block fo Coronado Avenue

Unknown suspect cashed one check and attempted to cash three other checks using Island Pasta Coronado’s account.

8/6/18: Burglary of the Second Degree near 200 block of Ocean Boulevard

Unknown suspect took wallet containing currency, credit cards, a driver’s license, and a military ID from a locked vehicle parked at the location. The total loss for the stolen items was approximately $133.

8/5/18-8/7/18: Using Another’s Personal Identification near 300 block of Alameda Boulevard

Victim discovered his Hawaiian Airlines Barclay Mastercard credit card had been hacked. Unknown suspect used his account information and personal information for online transactions that amounted to a $354.53 as of 8/10/18.

8/15/18: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 2100 block of Silver Strand Boulevard

32 year old female

8/14/18: Burglary of the Second Degree – Felony near 700 block of Orange Avenue

25 year old male

8/14/18: Possession of Narcotic Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor near 1800 block of SR-75

25 year old male

8/11/18: Battery On a Spouse or Cohabitant – Misdemeanor near 1000 block of Loma Avenue

30 year old male

8/11/18: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 900 block of Alameda Boulevard

29 year old male

8/11/18: Outside Warrant on Felony Charge – Misdemeanor near 1000 block of Isabella Avenue

51 year old male

8/10/18: Disorderly Conduct Due to Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 1100 block of Orange Avenue
