Coronado Film Students on Location at The Del’s DAYDREAM HOTEL (video)

CMS student, Zoe Hunt as DayDream Hotel Guest, Maddie Portman

Coronado High School and Middle School students began filming a feature length movie, DAYDREAM HOTEL at the Hotel del Coronado this month.

The movie is being filmed on a Blackmagic 4k Ultra HD Cinema Camera, which was purchased through a local, grass-roots fundraising effort this Summer.

DAYDREAM HOTEL is a co-production between the Coronado School of the Arts and Surf’s Up Studios. Veteran San Diego actors and actresses have joined together with Coronado students to bring this romantic fantasy film to life.

In addition to starring roles in the film, Coronado students are also directing the photography as well as the lighting and sound set-ups. Local crew and cast include Emma Kidd, Zoe Hunt, Patrick Clark, Felicity Bryant, Andre Zotoff, Ben Shapiro, Bobbie Bryant and Josh Concepcion.

DAYDREAM HOTEL executive producers include Shane Schmeichel, Cindy Anderson, Susan Kidd, Rich Brady, Tony Perri and Susan Hunt. The film is written and directed by Coronado School of the Arts Broadcasting and Film teacher, Tony Perri and is edited by CoSA Digital Media teacher, Carlos Pelayo, along with additional CoSA students.

It’s the year 2022 and the Hotel del Coronado is offering a totality immersive experience for Coronado’s wealthier visitors; for a mere one-million dollars, Hotel Del Guests can be digitally transformed into the fantasy character of their choice – for a “Day at The Del” they will never forget.
