I’d like to weigh in on what seems to be a conundrum of sorts in our very special town.
My wife and I moved in seven years ago with one of the reasons being our love of dogs that lined up with the Coronado spirit. We have had endless moments of joy over our time here, not the least of which has been making special friends with other dog lovers. The euphoria that our four legged friends enjoy during their romps with other dogs is priceless. I have yet to interact with an irresponsible dog owner.
What is virtually impossible for me to wrap my arms around is that in a small, special, beautiful, well run town like Coronado, we cannot agree to give dog owners an hour, twice a day, in a park like Vetter. The fact that certain people are so militant and inhospitable as to not want to show some kindness, goes against the inherent spirit that shines so brightly in our town. I can only hope that the powers to be, in the spirit of community fairness, find the path to making everyone feel fairly treated. Let’s not allow dog lovers to be bullied by those that think it should be their way or no way.
Sincerely, Richard Abrams
