At CHA’s next “Wine & Lecture” event on Friday, April 11, 5:30 p.m., author Christine Donovan, will make an encore appearance to discuss her well-received book, Coronado, California: Hometown, Homeport, Home Away from Home. Christine has been a resident of Coronado for over 35 years, and is the Hotel del Coronado’s official historian and Director of Heritage Programs. A noted local historian, Chris has published six books on Coronado and the Hotel Del.
In Coronado, California: Hometown, Homeport, Home Away From Home, she shares her love of the town and the island’s distinctive assets-from its historic neighborhoods to its Navy heritage and world-class vacation amenities.
As she writes, “ Coronado’s charms continue to captivate. Picture-perfect by design, the island is more than just a pretty place. It’s also a home: a home for residents, military and visitors for people, pets and wildlife. This shared sense of “home” is what makes Coronado so special for so many ”
Chris will talk about the development of her book and share more tidbits about the Hotel Del and Coronado history. Copies of Coronado, California will be on sale and available for signing by the author.
