Because there’s no place like home, the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission and Coronado MainStreet, LTD are pleased to present Celebrate OZ!, a free Coronado community festival set for Saturday, August 2, in Spreckels Park that promises an engaging and entertaining day of music, dance and art.
Celebrate Oz! will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is part of Oz Con International, a 10-day The Wizard of Oz Festival celebrating all things Oz taking place in Coronado and San Diego. http://www.ozconinternational.com
Celebrate Oz! organizers are looking for visual artists who live or work in Coronado to display and sell their work as part of the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission’s “Art Under the Umbrellas” event, which will be part of the Celebrate OZ! activities. “Art Under the Umbrellas” shows are held in public venues and are organized to create opportunities for Coronado artists to show and sell their work.
There is no fee to apply for this event. Display space will be assigned based upon the qualifications noted on the application, availability, and in the order of priority by date that the completed applications are received. The art on display should be appropriate for viewing by all ages. Artists will need to provide their own display easels or tables, chair and umbrellas. The display, artwork and umbrellas must be installed/designed to prevent overturning in the wind without stakes or attachment to park land or equipment. The display shall fit within a maximum 10-by-10-foot space as assigned by the Arts Coordinator.
Applicants must fill out an application. To request an application, please contact Kelly Purvis, Coronado Arts Commission Arts Administrator, [email protected]
