Writers Workshop Early Bird Registration

Save 20% if you sign up for the Cultural Arts Commission’s first “Writers Workshop” by this Wednesday, September 10th! The “Writers Workshop” is an exciting daylong gathering of local authors offering writing tips, talks and break-out sessions to those serious about writing, on Saturday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is required.

In partnership with the Coronado Eagle & Journal, Bay Books and Coronado High School, the Cultural Arts Commission’s Literary Arts Working Team is excited to launch this full day of events, including 10 sessions, 15 presenters and a chance for a portion of your current manuscript to be read by a literary agent or experienced editor. The keynote speaker will be Don Lamm, a 45-year veteran of publishing, including a stint as president and chairman of W.W. Norton Publishing, and currently a literary agent. He will be followed by panel discussions and break-out sessions, where industry leaders share their experience and expertise including:

  • Taking your writing to the next level; fine-tuning your skills with new ideas
  • Finding an agent, editor, publisher or self-publishing format
  • Publicizing, marketing and social media, offline and online

The workshop, which will take place at Coronado High School, includes lunch as well as a wine reception at Bay Books following the close of the workshop.
