Success Through Chess Camp

Chess campChess has been dubbed the perfect teaching and learning tool. It’s not just a game of Kings, Queens, and Rooks, but more a lesson in quadrants and coordinates, thinking strategically and foreseeing consequences. It’s about lines and angles, weighing options and making decisions. Because of all that, the Coronado Recreation Department is offering a Success Through Chess Camp this summer the week of July 5-7. From 1:00-4:00pm each day at the Coronado Community Center, chess campers ages seven to fourteen will play and learn new tactics of this challenging game. Fun will be had as they play challenges while increasing their ability to learn math, spatial analysis, and non-verbal reasoning.

Get your child using both sides of their brain this summer by registering at www.coronado.ca.us or (619) 522-7342. LIKE our facebook page at City of Coronado Recreation Services or go to Instagram at Recreate_Coronado to get on-going information on summer camps. Make this a way to “Put Some Play in Your Day!”
