Friday’s Wine & Lecture: USS CORONADO Update!

NEXT WINE & LECTURE:

‘USS CORONADO (LCS 4) — Update of Recent Operations’

The Coronado Historical Association, in partnership with the Coronado Council of the U.S. Navy League, will be sharing an exciting update on the USS CORONADO with the audience at Friday’s Wine & Lecture (January 30). CDR Peter Kim, Commanding Officer, USS CORONADO, will be guest speaker.

CORONADO has been engaged in trailblazing operations over the past nine months, and will be undergoing important testing later this year, culminating in certification of the Surface Warfare Mission Package for the entire LCS2 Variant/Class. CDR Kim will discuss how the ship has been engaged since commissioning, what has been learned about mission modules and other operations, and how this new knowledge will affect construction of LCS-class ships in the future.

As always, the lecture is FREE; wine will be available for $5 per glass. No RSVP required, but seating is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Program begins at 5:30 p.m., in the Lecture Hall at the Coronado Museum, 1100 Orange Avenue. For more info call 435-7242.
