Each day the meet will have a warm up time and an event start time. No later than ninety minutes after the end of the preliminary, or qualifying, heats the finals will commence. Thursday evening warm-ups are at 4 p.m. with the long distance 1500 meter freestyle heats beginning at 5 p.m.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday warm-ups begin at 7 a.m. with the prelim heats beginning at 9 a.m. Prelim finish times vary from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with finals starting between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. It’s safe to say that there will be activity at the pool most of each day for most of the weekend.

Over 600 swimmers are expected to compete in the JO Championships. That number does not include coaches, officials and spectators. Parking will be difficult and there will definitely be a buzz coming from the BBMAC.

The BBMAC competition pool is ready for the Long Course Junior Olympic Championship Meet.

In the San Diego-Imperial LSC (Local Swim Committee), according to the LSC website, “Junior Olympic time standards are set locally here in San Diego and are crafted to select approximately the 24 fastest swimmers in each event based upon the average results in the event over the past 3 – 5 years. These time standards can change annually to reflect changes in the size and performance of various age groups.”

The meet this weekend will have some of the area’s fastest swimmers competing. Entrance to the meet is free so if you happen to be in the area and want to watch some competitive swimming, the BBMAC is the place to be.

Good Luck to all the JO Swimmers!
