Wednesday, October 4, 10-11:30 a.m. “All About Eyes: What Seniors Should Know About Age Related Eye Conditions”
Through simulator glasses, and hands-on demonstrations, this presentation will take you on an educational journey into the world of age related eye conditions where you will examine the structures of the eye, review the symptoms of diseases and learn practical solutions for daily living. This interactive presentation and discussion is in partnership with the Braille Institute. Spots are limited; preregistration required.
Wednesday, October 11, 10:30-11:30 a.m. “The Electoral College: Boon or Bane”
Critics of the 2000 and 2016 presidential elections have attacked the Electoral College as obsolete and undemocratic. This streamed lecture will examine the origins, development, and consequences of our Electoral College system. James Ingram earned his Ph.D. form UC San Diego. He has taught the American Presidency and the US Constitution at UCSD and SDSU. Presented in partnership with UC San Diego Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Wednesday, October 25, 10 – 11:30 a.m. “The Aging Process: What is Normal and What is Not”
Participants will learn about physical, social and emotional changes and aging adult experiences. Presentation will also include the signs of normal vs. abnormal aging and successful ways of staying physically, emotionally, and socially active. Presented in partnership with Southern Caregiver Resource Center. Spots are limited; preregistration required.
