Downtown Verse to Host Open Mic Poetry Jam featuring Coronado Scribes

Scribes Poetry JamDowntown Verse spotlights the poetry and spoken word scene in San Diego County, features area poets and spoken word artists and offers residents an accessible and exciting venue for expressive performance.

The Coronado Scribes poets and spoken word artists will be featured during an event on Saturday, April 29 from 2-4pm. The event will be held at the San Diego Central Library at 330 Park Boulevard. Former two term Coronado Mayor Casey Tanaka will serve as emcee and guest host. During the Open Mic portion, all lovers of the spoken word are invited to attend and participate. The event is free and open to the public.

About Coronado Scribes
Coronado Scribes is a local writers group based in the City of Coronado. Members get together once a week to share and critique each other’s work. The Scribes are a varied group from different backgrounds including lawyers, a psychologist, a businessman, several painters and writers who come together for their love of writing. Some write poetry, others write prose. Their first book Coronado on My Mind was published in 2016.
