Lamb’s Players Theatre announced the cast for their summer production of American Rhythm, written and arranged by Kerry Meads and Vanda Eggington, running in their Coronado space from June 10 – August 7.
Associate Artistic Director and co-author of the piece, Kerry Meads, shared “When we first presented this original American Rhythm back in 2000 – it so touched our patrons of all ages. We heard wonderful feedback from patrons in their 80s sitting next to patrons in their 20s…laughing together as each revisited the music of their youth throughout the 100 years of American Music. Personal patron connections are what Lamb’s Players is all about – and we love facilitating them through story and music. Vanda and I are excited to revisit and refine the musical story and work with such a gifted new cast and musicians.”
The cast is comprised of a multi-talented group of San Diego actor/dancer/singers including Kiana Bell, Michael Cusimano, Caitie Grady, Siri Hafso, David Humphrey, Luke Harvey Jacobs, Benjamin Roy, Lance Arthur Smith, Deborah Gilmour Smyth and Joy Yandell.
They are joined by a 7-piece band of some of San Diego’s strongest musicians including Andy Ingersoll, Oliver Shirley, Russ Mitchell, Stefanie Schmitz, David Rumley, Rik Ogden and Dave Chamberlain.
Lamb’s will be introducing the cast and band and holding a special fund-raising event for American Rhythm – “We Got Rhythm” – on Sunday, April 24th at 6pm.
