CALIFORNIA AMERICAN WATER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 29th ANNUAL U.S. OPEN SANDCASTLE COMPETITION

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 14, 2009) – California American Water will participate in the 29th Annual U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition in Imperial Beach. The U.S. Open Imperial Beach Sandcastle Competition is the largest of its kind in the United States. Master and amateur sand carving teams throughout the U.S. and Canada come to this event to compete for cash prizes. This festival encompasses a full weekend, including a street festival, live music and other entertainment. All events are free to the public except the Sandcastle Ball. California American Water will host a water conservation booth Saturday and Sunday during the street festival. Company representatives will be on hand to discuss water conservation tips, provide customers with rebate information and answer any questions. In addition, California American Water will field a team to compete in the Executive Sandbox Division. In 2008, California American Water placed second in this category.
