I moved to my current house in Coronado when I was three years old. Since then I’ve been spoiled by the island’s beautiful weather which has succeeded in putting me under the impression that anything under 65 degrees is much too cold. I couldn’t imagine growing up somewhere that the beach isn’t a bike ride away or where I haven’t known the majority of my classmates since kindergarten.
As of Thursday, I started my senior year at Coronado High School. I definitely have mixed feelings of excitement and apprehension about being almost finished with my Islander days. That’s probably because I have absolutely no idea where I might be this time next year! With AP classes and college applications looming, my days seem to be getting progressively busier.
When I’m not studying, I can usually be found with my friends aimlessly wandering Orange Avenue in search of our next adventure. I also play soccer with Nado Select and will be playing with the high school team this winter. In a lot of ways I’m a living, breathing teenage stereotype; I blast bad music at the risk of blowing out my speakers, have a perpetually messy room, and religiously follow guilty pleasure shows like Gossip Girl. However, one of my biggest passions is reading. I currently have a list about a mile long titled “Books to Read” that consists of everything from Pride and Prejudice to The Help.
I’m incredibly excited to be interning for eCoronado.com. Besides working a little for my parents, I would consider this to be my first real job. Over the next couple months I will be writing about Coronado High School events, conducting student interviews, and even posting teacher profiles. If you have anything that you want me to cover feel free to contact me at [email protected]!
