AT&T Upgrades Network at NAB Coronado

New Cell Tower Will Provide Faster Wireless Service

AT&T added a new cell tower to its 4G LTE network at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado to provide faster, more reliable wireless service. The occasion was celebrated with a ribbon cutting on August 29.

The new cell tower will help customers get the most out of their mobile devices. With 4G LTE service on “the nation’s largest and most reliable network,” customers will experience better network connectivity while streaming videos, sharing on social media or texting family and friends.

“We know how important it is for our service men and women at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado to stay connected,” said Ignacio De La Torre, Assistant Vice President of External Affairs at AT&T. “We’re always working to provide better coverage, and we’re investing in our local wireless network to accomplish that.”

Earlier this year, AT&T added two additional cell towers at Naval Base Coronado. These upgrades are part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to increase speeds, add capacity and expand the availability of its network using the latest technology. By building out our 4G LTE network, AT&T is laying the foundation for 5G.
