Humans of Coronado is a photo series where we “bump” into residents and visitors around the “island,” completely unplanned and unfiltered. It was inspired by Humans of New York. Next time you are out and about around town, you may just find yourself part of the next HOC series!

“Yeah, I feel safe. Growing up here you just know everybody so you can tell when something isn’t just right.”
“I feel relatively safe here because of the fine police department we have and the navy being here. I know some people think it’s a detriment because they attack places like this, but I feel relatively safe.
“Did you hear about what was supposed to happen today? That group ‘Anonymous’ leaked that information from ISIS that there was going to be attacks all over- in Italy, and Atlanta, and a few other places. Today.”
Alyssa graduated from Coronado High School, earned her BA in Communication from CSU East Bay, and then her MBA from CSU San Marcos, then fused all three together to write about businesses in her hometown of Coronado. When she's not interviewing business owners, she's running her own business, Burns Books, where she publishes her YA novels. You can find her books here.
