Coronado, Ca.- After two-and-a-half years in business, Fuel Juicebar closed its doors last Saturday at 1pm. Serving locally roasted coffee, whole fruit smoothies and juices, wheatgrass, slow-cooked oatmeal and healthy snacks, the café filled a niche in the community.
“I think we met a need that wasn’t being met before. No one else on the island really had the same type of menu items. Over the last two years we saw a steady increase in our customer baselocal San Diegans and tourists were finding us on Yelp and Trip Advisor and going out of their way to visit us. We are sad that we needed to close,” said owner Nina McDonald. “We will miss seeing our regular customers. It’s been very gratifying to experience the outpouring of community support.”
Rent costs and a pending rent increase were cited as the primary factors in the owner’s decision to close the business. Any questions or concerns can be emailed to [email protected].
