VFW Post 2422 welcomes the community to its candlelight ceremony and dinner on National POW/MIA Recognition Day Friday, September 20.
According to VFW 2422 Post Cdr Chuck Lucas, “This annual remembrance salutes over 80,000 Americans who have served in the military since World War II and have not returned. Our guest speaker is Coronado resident, Jeffrey Donahue. He has dedicated much of his life to learn about his brother, Maj. Morgan J. Donahue, USAF, who has been missing in action in Laos since December 13, 1968.”
Centered around a small symbolic table set for one, the ceremony begins at the VFW Post, 557 Orange Avenue, at 5:30 pm. Immediately after, the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary will serve a roast pork dinner with all the trimmings. A $10 donation is requested and take-out will be available.
