SAN DIEGO The San Diego Regional Water Control Board approved an unprecedented San Diego Bay cleanup project Wednesday.
The board is moving forward with its recommendation to remove 60 acres of polluted sediment near the shipyards south of the San Diego-Coronado Bridge.
“Right now in San Diego Bay, people take a significant risk when it comes to eating the fish that they catch from the bay,” Regional Water Quality Control Board Executive Officer David Gibson said.
