The Coronado Soroptimist annual Bags of Generosity drive aims to assemble 200 gift bags to support local survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence, people experiencing homelessness, and young adults who have aged out of foster care. Community members can help by donating hygiene items from the club’s Amazon registry.
The quantities listed on the registry are suggestions, and donors can choose which items and how many to purchase. Amazon gift cards in any dollar amount are also welcome, allowing club members to purchase needed supplies. Items ordered through Amazon can be sent to club member Aimée Richards at the first delivery address listed, or dropped off items at 805 Adella Avenue.
Monetary donations can also be made by check, payable to Soroptimist International of Coronado, and mailed to PO Box 180345, Coronado, CA, 92178-0345.
The bags will be assembled at the Soroptimists’ Nov. 11 meeting, so item donations must be received by Nov. 10.
“Every contribution, big or small, helps make a difference in the lives of women and girls in need,” said a Soroptimist spokesperson. “Thank you for supporting our mission and helping us make a positive impact in our community!”
