UPDATE #1 8/28/09 – Joe Cook Yesterday we learned that the District and the contractor were able to sort out their administrative issues. We are therefore able to proceed with the federally mandated repair as planned on the original schedule. Today (8/28/09) will be the last day we are fully open for about 2 weeks. We anticipate reopening in a limited capacity on or about September 14. UPDATE #2 8/29/09 – Joe Cook At the the 11th hour yesterday afternoon (literally 2-3 hours before staff were to begin draining the pool), the contractor who is scheduled to do the repair to BBMAC advised the District that the matter between them was not satisfactorily resolved as everyone had previously believed it had been. What that means is that we are on hold until this all gets sorted out. I am not sure what services we can offer next week nor for how long at this point. We are definitely closed this weekend since we had given staff notice that they would not be needed and they have made other plans. UPDATE #3 9/01/09 – Joe Cook Apparently, the issue between the District and the tow contractors is resolved. Our aquatics director Carrie Fisher-Fernan has commenced the necessary draining of the pool. The repair work will begin later this week and the estimate for reopening is now on or about September 18th. Joe Cook (President of BBMAC) gives eCoronado.com a video update on the BBMAC pool.
