eCoronado.com Interns Learn How to Maximize Strengths

Michael Dauphinee of TDG explains the finer points of identity driven leadership to eCoronado.com staff members.

Most every Thursday since our eCoronado.com internship commenced, we have gathered as a staff to review the current and future projects of each intern. Our last meeting was especially unique and valuable. We were lucky enough to host Michael Dauphinee of The Dauphinee Group (TDG) as our guest. Michael’s presence at our meeting and his insight into Identity Driven Leadership was amazing. He is an approachable, warm individual and made the evening fun and motivating.

Michael’s Bio, from his website for The Dauphinee Group, reads as follows:

“After having been fired from his first job at age 13 for talking too much, Michael spent many years trying to be anybody other than himself. More specifically: someone quieter. Fortunately, he eventually found his voice and successfully put it to use for organizations ranging from small non-profits to companies like Hewlett Packard, and eventually founding The Dauphinee Group in early 2007. Michael has traveled the globe, from Uruguay to Afghanistan, working with individuals, governments, and Fortune 500 companies, with the single purpose of giving people permission to live life from their identity, while challenging them to give that same permission away. When not on the road, Michael passionately pursues fitness, photography, and reasons to avoid leaving his little corner of Coronado Island in California.”

Each of us received a copy of “Strengths Finder 2.0” by Tom Rath. We completed an assessment that identified the top five “themes” for us. During our meeting, Michael explained each theme as it related to our uniqueness. He was able to identify things about each of us without ever having met most of us before. The key is for us to take the information and, instead of trying to improve upon our weaknesses, use our strengths to find success.

Though he lives in Coronado, most of TDG’s business is off-island. We are extremely fortunate to have caught Michael in Coronado and to have benefitted from his wealth of knowledge.
