FILM FORUM CORONADO: “All the King’s Men”
August 19 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT
Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.
August 19: All the King’s Men (1949, PG-13, 110 min)
He might have been a pretty good guy… If power… And women… Hadn’t gone to his head. This barbed and pungent indictment of political chicanery chronicles the rise and fall of a bull-headed, backwoods lawyer and political demagogue Broderick Crawford (Academy Award), Mercedes McCambridge (Academy Award), John Ireland and Joanne Dru star.
