Building Basements in Coronado

There’s been a lot of interest in whether basements should be built in Coronado and under what conditions. The City of Coronado Planning Commission will be holding a hearing on Coronado basements on April 10, 2018 at 3:00pm in City Hall Council Chambers.

Flagg Coastal Homes has recently completed two basements in Coronado, one at 100 Ocean Drive (in the water table), and one at 1001 Loma (the sump pit extended into the water table). They also completed a basement in Del Mar which intercepted an old underground spring.

Their team of professionals have a good understanding of both the constraints and opportunities associated with Coronado basements. Flagg is planning to share their knowledge at an informational presentation on Thursday evening, April 5, in the Winn Room at the Coronado Library.

Where:  The Winn Room, Coronado Library, 640 Orange Avenue
When:   Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 6:00-8:00 PM
