The Coronado Firefighters are pleased to welcome back Fire Chief E. John Traylor, who is returning as Head of Fire Services starting today. Chief Traylor will be officially sworn in at tomorrow’s City Council meeting. Chief Traylor had previously been instrumental in many advances in Coronado’s Public Safety: a move to a regional Heartland Fire Dispatch, upgrading to 800MHz radios, joining the County’s Regional Communications System (RCS), and initiating the Coronado Fire Department’s Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic program in 2001 which greatly increased the level of Pre-Hospital Emergency Care the Firefighters can bring to your bedside. Since his retirement from Coronado in 2004 Chief Traylor has continued to be active in improving the local Fire Service in San Diego County. He has been a consultant to the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) working on addressing the County’s Fire Protection challenges. Please join us in welcoming Chief Traylor back to the beautiful City of Coronado and we all look forward to continuing to work towards providing the people of Coronado with the best in Public Safety.
