Coronado Shores condo fire out, caused $200,000 damage

CORONADO — Residents and visitors at one of the Coronado Shores condominium towers were evacuated Thursday morning after a two-alarm blaze broke out inside one unit, causing about $200,000 in damage, officials said.

One woman suffered minor burns and at least two other people were treated for smoke inhalation, Coronado police Cmdr. Jesus Ochoa said. None of the injured went to a hospital.

The fire was reported at 10:14 a.m. in the 15-story La Sierra tower, at the north end of the Shores complex on Avenida del Mundo, south of the Hotel del Coronado.
