Leaving Coronado for Oklahoma

Leaving Coronado to return to our other home in Oklahoma is always a bittersweet experience. Leaving our beautiful island and our Coronado friends is sad, but we are always happy to return to our home and many friends in Norman. When people ask, “why do you ever come back from that beautiful place by the ocean?”, I usually say something like “to see our friends and family and to trade earthquakes for tornadoes.

All that changed last night. As we prepared for bed in our Norman home a record 5.6 quake sent us scrambling for cover. After it was over, I realized I will now be returning to Oklahoma to see friends and family, while dealing with tornadoes, as well as earthquakes.
