The race is not for the faint at heart as the participants can face large swells during the 2 loop 1.2 mile ocean swim, strong headwinds during the 56 mile bike, and plenty of sand and trails during the 13.1 mile run. This event was created by Navy SEALS as a training opportunity for the Ironman World Championship.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR – F1 Triathlon

Come out to Silver Strand State Beach on Saturday, September 29th and watch professional triathletes, including 2012 US Olympian Manny Huerta and 2008 US Olympian Matty Reed, race this exciting new event. The F1 TRIATHLON will be held in conjunction with packet pickup and will feature 20 top professionals racing a short circuit that consists of a 300m swim, 4 mile bike, 1.5 mile run, 300m swim, 4 mile bike, and a 1.5 mile run.

F1 TRIATHLON is a fast and furious Super Sprint series showcasing elite athletes in spectator friendly venues. Our multiple lap format puts you right in the middle of the action while racers are going flat out, pushing themselves to their limits. No more waiting around for hours only to get a fleeting glimpse of your favorite athlete. These 30-45 minute long races almost always end in a sprint finish!
