Best of the Best Book Club: “Beloved” by Toni Morrison
February 25 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PST
Free
The Coronado Public Library’s Best of the Best Book Club meets regularly on the fourth Wednesday of each month to discuss books that have won major awards.
For our February meeting, we will discuss the 1988 Pulitzer Prize Winner Beloved by Toni Morrison, which was named as one of the Great American Novels of the Past 100 Years by The Atlantic.Â
Place this title on hold via our online catalog, or check out the e-book through the CloudLibrary app.
About Beloved
Sethe was born a slave and escaped to Ohio, but eighteen years later she is still not free. Sethe has too many memories of Sweet Home, the beautiful farm where so many hideous things happened. And Sethe’s new home is haunted by the ghost of her baby, who died nameless and whose tombstone is engraved with a single word: Beloved.
