Shakespeare Readings at the Library

The Coronado Library hosts the San Diego Shakespeare Society’s Shakespeare readings on the first Tuesday of each month. The next reading will be on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. The Winter’s Tale, Part Two. Darryl Woodson, President of the SDSS, will direct The Winter’s Tale, Part Two.

All ages are welcome to attend this free activity. Each scene is recast so everyone who would like to participate gets an opportunity to do so. Casting is non-gender specific so women can read men’s roles and vice-versa. Bring or borrow a copy of the play from the library or bring up the text on your phone. If you would just like to listen, that is okay too.

When you read Shakespeare out loud, you sharpen your cold reading skills whether you’re an actor or someone who just enjoys speaking and hearing the wonderful poetry and graceful language. It doesn’t hurt your street cred either! Join us for these free and stimulating evenings with the bard!
