Community Voices: Prop E Mailer Insulting

The letter was submitted to eCoronado.com from Coronado resident Ray Richardson.

It’s Saturday night and I’m having dinner with family friends here in Coronado. ( All supporters of prop E with a sign in their yard ) Just this minute, in the mail at their home, is new mailer/pamphlet from “protectourcoronadoschools.com”

Please tell me who exactly is www.protectourcoronadoschools.com ?

The mailer reads, “There are usually 2 sides to every story” and then when you open it up it gives approx 15 names… 2 of which are my parents, Dave and Margaret Richardson.

The pamphlet targets my Mother and my Father as opponents to prop E but also implies that my parents ARE NOT honest or truthful. It says that my parents have NOT registered with the Fair Political Practices Commission so it is unknown where their support is coming from.

What support? My mom and dad wrote a letter to Coronado Eagle and it cost nothing.
It also says, ” Don’t believe the opposition scare tactics”

For the RECORD……… My mom and dad WANT TO PROTECT THE KIDS!!!! They both WANT TO PROTECT EVERYTHING IN CORONADO!!!!! They have done EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO PROTECT THE SCHOOLS!!!

Every single person I know that is voting NO is voting NO for the same exact reason. It is NOT about the money….They ALL care about the kids! They are ALL voting NO becasue the CUSD has not fully disclosed their bank statements so there is NO WAY we can make a fair, ratioinal, educated decsion on this proposition. Is not using good judgement and reading the fine print what we should be teaching our kids?

I am so grossly insulted by this marketing campaign. It has now gone too far. It’s mother’s day tomorrow and after all the hard work my family has put towards this community, this protectourcoronadoshcools group has resorted to slandering my mom and dad.

Happy Mothers Day…. Ray Richardson
