Caltrans Completing Studies Needed for Clearance for Bird Spikes on Bridge

Caltrans logoCaltrans District 11 is completing the studies needed to receive environmental clearance by regulatory agencies for installation of interim bird spikes along the majority of the San Diego – Coronado Bridge. Once finalized, District 11 will submit its findings to the agencies and they will determine whether the cultural, biological, and visual impacts are low enough to enable the use of a CEQA Categorical Exemption for environmental clearance. If consent is received, Caltrans expects to begin installation of bird spikes by early 2019.
