MOPS Coronado in Need of Coordinator or Meeting Space

Coronado community, your help is needed!

MOPS Coronado is currently in need of a group coordinator and daycare coordinator, and/or a new location to meet.

http://www.mops.org/What is MOPS Coronado?

MOPS Coronado is the local chapter of the mom-based organization called MOPS, which stands for Mothers of PreSchoolers.

“MOPS International encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus, and in partnership with the local church.”
More information can be found on the MOPS website.

The Coronado chapter is made up of 50+ moms. They meet twice a month for two hours while the kids are cared for by on-site daycare providers. The moms enjoy brunch, listen to speakers and do service projects.

Currently the group meets at the First Baptist Church on C Avenue. In order to continue meeting there, they need a member of the church to co-coordinate. They also need a coordinator for the daycare program. Another option is to move to a different location, and they are looking into that alternative.

MOPS Coronado is hoping that another church in Coronado would consider the group OR a current FBC member would consider co-coordinating. The daycare coordinator is a paid position. The MOPS coordinator is a volunteer position.

A member shared, “The group means so much to so many local moms. It has been especially important for military moms who find themselves in different communities every 2-3 years. Many of us have made our mom friends because of this group. We would hate to have to close our doors.”

If you’re interested in either position, or if your church is willing to “take us in,” please email: [email protected].
