Coronado’s Mayor, Richard Bailey, shows his newly pinned wings as he accepts the position of a Senior Advisor to the Golden Rule Society (GRS).

Captain Len Kaine, USN (Retired), the founder and president of GRS did the honors as they joined in celebrating 45 years of the Golden Rule Society’s charity work—supporting the front line defenders of our freedoms, their families, plus churches and charities nationwide and worldwide.

It’s interesting to note that Mayor Bailey follows in the footsteps of a number of his predecessors beginning with Mayor Richard Parker, a co-founder and a Senior Advisor in the GRS. Parker was then followed by Mayors Virginia Bridge, Mary Herron, Thomas Smisek, and Casey Tanaka—all civic minded leaders who directly contributed to the success of the GRS charity.

Coincidentally, Len Kaine, who leads a pantheon of non-paid advisors and volunteers, was again nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Congressman Scott Peters in January 2017 making it an even more significant achievement for his 45th anniversary of charity work.
