Layers of Love Blanket Drive – Collecting Until January 31

Imagine the homeless, living out on the streets only minutes from your own home, struggling to stay warm during the cold winter nights without more than the clothes on their backs. Coronado teens have joined forces to give warmth to those in need by facilitating the fifth-annual Layers of Love, an effort to collect blankets for the homeless. Donated blankets will be distributed to Father Joe’s Villages in Downtown San Diego and The Sisters of the 11th Hour’s Homeless Center in Tijuana. Collections will take place from now until January 31st. Please drop off your new or gently used blankets at Sacred Heart Church (655 C Avenue) or contact Sam Roughneen, who will come pick them up. Clothing items such as coats, scarfs, and gloves, as well as cash donations, are also graciously accepted.

Thank you!
