’60s Peace Activist to Protest Assault Weapons

Nonviolent activist Francesco Da Vinci, featured in Newsweek Magazine in 1971, displayed a banner from a motorboat in protest of the Vietnam War. On Friday, June 10^th, at Seaforth Boat Rentals, Da Vinci will once again take to the water and unfurl a banner – this time, in protest of violence at home: PROTECT OUR KIDS – BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS

Da Vinci calls on Congress to “do the right thing and protect our children.” He adds, “Our choice is clear: either we ‘protect’ military-style assault weapons, or we protect our children. Enough is enough. Let’s honor the lives that have been lost with action.”
