Islander Varsity Softball (Tournament Game Today)

The Coronado Islanders girls varsity softball team finished the regular season with a 19-3 record. They earned the #1 ranking in San Diego CIF Division 4. Led by senior team captains Trudie Nixon and Jennica Lasala, the team has played some of the best defense in the county. Their offense has taken advantage of the team’s speed to lead their attack.

The Lady Islanders have made it to the semi-finals, which is the farthest any softball team has gone in the history of CHS.  They will be playing today, May 25th at 12 noon vs La Jolla High School at The Poway Sports Complex. If they lose, they will play again on Thursday about 2pm. This is a double elimination playoff tournament. If the team wins either of the two games they will advance to the Division 4 Championship game at UCSD on May 27th at 11:30am in a single championship game.

They look forward to hearing our community support at the games ~  Go Islanders!
