Local Team to Climb Stairs for FirefighterAid – 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

March 3, 2025  Editor’s Note: Names and places of business have been removed at the request of the climbers so as not to be publicly displayed any longer.

Two Coronado locals are once again participating in the San Diego 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb (www.sandiegostairclimb.com). Last year through the generosity of a lot of people, they raised over $7200 for FirefighterAid, making their first year of fundraising a huge success!

This year they are setting the bar even higher and with your help they believe that they can make the 2016 climb even more amazing and break their new $10,000 fundraising goal!

Why they climb… 15 years ago on September 11, 2001, 403 First Responders made the ultimate sacrifice. On Saturday, September 10 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, this local team will ascend 110 floors (the same number as in the twin towers) in the memory and honor of two of those fallen heroes, Andrew Brunn and Joseph Spor and symbolically finish their climb.

They are also climbing to raise awareness of the sacrifices made by firefighters everywhere. Each year, approximately 100 firefighters die while serving their communities, but together we can honor these sacrifices and care for the firefighters who assume these risks and the families who share them.

Please help raise money for FirefighterAid 501(c)(3) #33-6091348 and the other benefiting charities (National Fallen Firefighter Foundation, Psycharmor Collaborative and Firefighter Cancer Support Network) by making a donation of your choosing. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of the funds raised go directly to the benefiting charities. Thank you in advance for your support!
