BBMAC Pool Opens After Major Deck Repairs

Programs and lessons are now back in session at BBMAC.

The Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex (BBMAC) officially reopened on Sunday, November 1st with the Pacific Southwestern Zone League Tournament.

The facility was closed for 3 months due to the pool deck’s rapid deterioration. The pool deck was completely demolished and re-poured to proper specifications. Due to the lengthy closure and the nature of the demolition, the pool required a full re-plastering as well. Broken tiles were repaired or replaced, the bulkhead was polished, shined and repainted, and LED energy efficient lights were installed in both pools.

BBMAC is now open for swimming.
New LED energy efficient lights were installed in both pools.

Additionally the facility is getting some new doors and a fresh coat of paint on existing doors. There are still a few additional items to complete on the punch list.

BBMAC is offering 5 weeks of private and semi-private swimming lessons in the afternoons on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There are still available spaces in these classes.

Additionally the youth swim team, Coronado Navy Swim Association, is once again practicing here. They conduct tryouts every Tuesday at 4:15pm. Finally, the youth water polo team, Coronado Aquatics Club, has returned and is offering Primo Polo, Youth Polo, Junior Polo and Senior Girls Polo practices. Kids may come at 4:30pm to try the water polo teams out.
