Join CHA for a free informational forum about the Orange Avenue Corridor Specific Plan. In 2003, the City of Coronado and community members developed the Orange Avenue Corridor Specific Plan to “provide a policy and regulatory bridge between the city of Coronado General Plan and individual, project-level development.” The City Council approved the Specific Plan in 2004 after multiple community workshops and citizen involvement and have made amendments to the plan through 2014. According to Chapter VI, the Commercial Zone Design Criteria, “the purpose of the design criteria is to protect the special identity of the commercial areas of Coronado,” in particular, the special “village” character.
The forum will be led by Phil Monroe and other members of the Orange Avenue Corridor Specific Plan Committee who will discuss the development and history of the plan.
