FILM FORUM CORONADO: “Blinded by the Light”

Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

During the doldrums of the Thatcher years in the UK, an angsty Pakistani teen and budding writer (Viveik Kaira) yearns to escape the racial turmoil and inflexibility of his strict father. His world is blown open when he finds a cathartic outlet for his pent-up dreams: the music of “The Boss,” Bruce Springsteen. (Based on a true story).
