City of Coronado Aquatics Center; Lifeguard Shortage

Due to staffing shortages, the City of Coronado Aquatics Center has reduced hours of operation. The Lifeguard shortage has been ongoing for over a year, and despite the department’s best efforts to find potential employees, they have been unable to hire enough staff to cover the current hours of operation. This shortage is not only affecting aquatics centers in Coronado, but aquatics facilities across San Diego County. The Aquatic’s Center will be holding a Lifeguard class in June. Individuals interested in becoming a lifeguard can contact the Aquatics Department at 619-522-2464. We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding during this difficult time.
