SUMMARY:Free Summer Shuttle Kick-Off Event
DESCRIPTION:City leaders and sponsors of Coronado’s Free Summer Shuttle program invite the community to the 2022 season kick-off event on Friday\, May 27\, where a colorful new bus wrap will be introduced. The new wrap is a departure from the red vintage Volkswagen bus design that had covered the shuttle buses for the past six years. The design may feel familiar to many in the community as it is based on a public art mural installed on the old Cora Mart building until Vons started recent improvements. \nThe kick-off event will be held on the first day of service on the Friday before Memorial Day at 10 am at Spreckels Park. After the kick-off ceremony\, the community is invited to take a ride. Light refreshments will be served. The City worked with Discover Coronado\, which funds the wraps every year\, to perfect the design. The mural is a wavy image of the word Coronado in all caps set on a background of shades of blue. Each letter contains an iconic image of the City such as the Hotel del Coronado\, the Village Theatre and the beach. \nThe Free Summer Shuttle program will run from May 27 to Sept. 5. The City contracts with the Metropolitan Transit System to operate the Free Summer Shuttle for Village bus service at 15-minute intervals along the existing 904 Route. Buses run from 9 am to 9:30 pm Sunday through Thursday\, and one hour later Friday and Saturday. Half-price tickets are available for youth (ages 5 to 17)\, young adults (18 to 34) and active duty military. \nShowings are Wednesday\, Thursday and Friday at 7pm; Saturday at 4pm and 8pm; Sunday at 2pm. \nLamb’s Players Theatre operates under the Health Protocol set by Actors Equity\, the union of theatre performers. To help ensure safety and well-being in the current pandemic environment\, all our theatre staff\, cast and crew members are fully vaccinated. All our Usher Teams are required to be fully vaccinated as well. Currently all audience members ages five and above are required to have proof of full vaccination with 1) a physical COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card issued at the time of vaccination\, or 2) a photograph of the patron’s Vaccination Record Card\, or 3) a digital vaccination record. No business or contractor-generated waste is permitted. \nHousehold products containing toxic chemicals become hazardous waste when you decide to dispose of them. Never throw hazardous products in the trash\, as the toxic chemicals may harm the environment and sanitation workers\, and start fires in trash trucks. Never pour hazardous products into a sink or storm drain. It is dangerous and they will end up in our environment polluting the air\, water and soil. The City of Coronado’s HHW program is available so that all residents in the community can safely dispose of their toxic\, hazardous waste. \nMore details HERE.
