He has received formal training in directing from the Berkeley Rep and from Cambridge University in the UK. DESCRIPTION:Author Jennifer Coburn appears at the Library to celebrate the fall 2022 publication of her new novel\, Cradles of the Reich. Set in 1939\, Germany is on the brink of war and Hitler’s plan to create a “master race” of pure-blooded Aryan babies has been launched. The top-secret Lebensborn Nazi breeding program is brought to life amidst the story of three German women who change the course of one another’s lives. \nCoburn has also published a mother-daughter travel memoir\, We’ll Always Have Paris\, as well as six contemporary women’s novels. Additionally\, she has contributed to five literary anthologies\, including A Paris All Your Own. \nBooks will be sold at the event courtesy of Adventures by the Book and are available for pre-sale at adventuresbythebook.com/event/jen-coburn-launch. \nCoburn lives in San Diego with her husband William. Their daughter Katie is currently in graduate school. She is also an active volunteer with Reality Changers\, a nonprofit that supports low-income high school students in becoming the first in their families to attend college. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the performance. \nOn Friday\, October 7\, pianist Phil Dannels will perform. \n\nPianist\, composer\, and tenor Phillip Dannels studied music at Point Loma Nazarene University. He has been heard in recital throughout the United States\, and has performed as a soloist at Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego in masterclass with Lang Lang. Phillip has performed under the auspices of the San Diego Opera\, Bodhi Tree Concerts\, and Point Loma Opera Theatre. He spent several seasons as the assistant conductor for Point Loma Opera Theatre\, and directed their production of Donizetti’s Rita. He has served as a répétiteur for various operas\, operettas\, and musicals throughout the San Diego area. \n

DESCRIPTION:Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection is held the second and fourth Saturday of each month\, from 9 am to 2 pm at the Public Services Facility\, located at 101 B Avenue\, and is available to Coronado residents only. No business or contractor-generated waste is permitted. \nHousehold products containing toxic chemicals become hazardous waste when you decide to dispose of them. Never throw hazardous products in the trash\, as the toxic chemicals may harm the environment and sanitation workers\, and start fires in trash trucks. Never pour hazardous products into a sink or storm drain. It is dangerous and they will end up in our environment polluting the air\, water and soil. The City of Coronado’s HHW program is available so that all residents in the community can safely dispose of their toxic\, hazardous waste. \nMore details HERE.
