SUMMARY:Darkroomers: Where We Wander exhibit opening reception
DESCRIPTION:Where We Wander is a collection of photographs created by members of the Darkroomers Photographic Club\, captured both close to home and around the world. \n \nTogether\, these images reflect the many ways we move through and observe the world around us. Some photographs come from distant places. Others were made in familiar neighborhoods\, quiet corners\, or everyday spaces. What connects them is the photographer’s attention to the moment. \nWherever we wander\, we are looking closely. We are noticing light\, place\, people\, details\, and stories. This exhibition celebrates the act of slowing down\, seeing with intention\, and appreciating the world through photography. \nAbout Darkroomers: The Darkroomers Photo Club (DRPC) is a photography club with a strong emphasis on printing photographs\, thoughtful critiques\, and creative growth. Quarterly photo challenges\, interclub competition\, photo field trips\, workshops\, and friendly camaraderie are the hallmark of the club. \nWe are a member of the Southern California Association of Camera Clubs (SCACC). The Darkroomers club meets monthly at the Photographic Arts Building in Balboa Park adjacent to Spanish Village. These meetings are held on the 1st\, 3rd\, and sometimes a 5th Wednesday of the month. Social hour begins at 6pm and the meeting begins at 7pm. \nThe club holds quarterly challenges and annual interclub competitions with members of other SCACC member clubs. Workshops are held at least once a quarter by one of the club members\, on a variety of topics such as: photo processing\, camera techniques\, and experimenting with creative photography. SUMMARY:San Diego Restaurant Week
DESCRIPTION:Eight Days of Celebrating San Diego’s Culinary Scene \nSan Diego Restaurant Week (SDRW)\, presented by the California Restaurant Association (CRA)\, returns September 13-20\, calling all foodies to celebrate San Diego’s culinary scene with eight days of specially curated dining experiences throughout the county. More than 120 participating restaurants across 30+ neighborhoods will offer exclusive two-course lunch and three-course dinner menus starting at just $30\, giving locals and visitors alike the opportunity to discover new favorites while supporting the region’s hospitality community. \nBeyond the meals\, SDRW continues to give back through its partnership with Restaurants Care\, with a portion of participating restaurant fees supporting California restaurant workers facing unexpected hardships. SDRW is also teaming up once again with Specialty Produce to spotlight seasonal ingredients in select menus\, bringing even more local flavor to this year’s event. \nFrom award-winning fine dining destinations to neighborhood gems\, SDRW showcases the flavors\, cultures\, and creativity of San Diego dining destinations. Participating restaurants span neighborhoods including Downtown\, La Jolla\, North County Coastal and North County Inland\, South Bay\, East County\, Mission Bay and Beaches\, Point Loma\, Hillcrest\, North Park\, Coronado\, and more.
