DESCRIPTION:Learn how to prune roses on at the Harlow Rose Garden in front of the Library. Please bring sharp bypass pruners and gloves to participate in this hands-on workshop. This event is also an opportunity to get information about fertilizing roses\, as well as dealing with pests and fungal diseases. This free event commences at 9am and is open to the public and led by Consulting Rosarian and Master Gardener\, Rita Perwich\, and Master Gardeners Maria Mata and Carvill Veech. \nThe Master Gardener Tool Committee will be on-site starting at 8:30am to provide free cleaning and sharpening of one pair of pruners or loppers for each attendee of the workshop. Tools must be in good working condition to be cleaned and sharpened.

Her favorite motto when it comes to organizing is “perfect is the enemy of done” and will address the psychological reasons we struggle with our stuff. \n \nAbout the Speaker: \nJami Shapiro is a Certified Senior Move Manager\, a Certified Divorce Coach\, a Level II ADHD Specialist with the Institute for Challenging Disorganization and is in the ADDCA ADHD Coaching program. She founded Silver Linings Transitions in 2014 and prior to this was a Realtor serving seniors since 2001. \nShe speaks nationally and locally about topics ranging from ADHD in seniors\, to decluttering and organizing to dividing belongings in divorce as well as Gray Divorce. Jami blogs regularly and has appeared on numerous podcasts and TV shows. She hosts the “Grandma Has ADHD” Podcast. Silver Linings Transitions is a Diamond Society member of the National Association of Senior and Specialty Move Managers\, the BBB\, and the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.

DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand! Have you always enjoyed telling stories? Ever considered storytelling in front of an audience? The Storytelling Institute\, a free seven-week course presented by the Storytellers of San Diego\, is open to everyone who would like to hone their skills in this ancient art form. The Institute culminates in an optional storytelling slot for each participant at the San Diego Storytelling Festival at the Coronado Public Library on March 15\, 2025. \nRegistration is requested for the January 21 introductory session. All other sessions are walk-in\, no registration. \nJanuary 21: “What’s Your Story: Finding the Stories in Your Life” with Marilyn McPhie \nOur lives are filled with stories.
