Sixwire is one of the busiest\, hardest-working bands to come out of Nashville. In addition to performing their own spectacular shows featuring everything from their own hits to the best in pop\, rock\, classic rock\, and even country\, Sixwire regularly welcomes special celebrity guests to sit in with them. \nSixwire members served as “house band” on USA Network’s “Nashville Star”\, and continued their television work on FOX’s “Next Great American Band”\, CMT’s “Next Superstar”\, and ABC’s dramatic series “Nashville”. The band also served as the first ever house band for the NFL Draft on ESPN\, and most recently performed for the Las Vegas Raiders’ private event at this year’s Super Bowl. Sharp Coronado Hospital will present “Music for Wellness” on Thursday\, August 15\, from 2-3 p.m. \nA music therapist from Sharp Coronado Hospital will lead this interactive\, free presentation. According to Sharp’s Arts for Healing webpage\, “Music therapy can help reduce pain and anxiety\, improve well-being\, and promote personal reflection.” Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a group music-making activity using hand-played percussion instruments. No previous experience is needed for this enjoyable and informative session. \nThere is no fee for registration\, but the Spreckels Center staff recommend signing up to ensure ample seating.
