The free program will celebrate this year’s Community READ selection\, The Feather Detective: Mystery\, Mayhem\, and the Magnificent Life of Roxie Laybourne\, with Sweeney sharing his insight into the remarkable true story behind the book.   \nThe Feather Detective chronicles the groundbreaking work of Roxie Laybourne\, the world’s first forensic ornithologist\, whose pioneering techniques in feather identification helped solve crimes\, prevent airplane disasters\, and transform scientific understanding. Blending biography\, history\, and natural science\, the book has been praised for its engrossing narrative and compelling subject matter.   \nThe event is free and open to the public thanks to support from the City of Coronado and the Friends of the Coronado Public Library.
